Vicente

ARNÁS

Born in Madrid (Spain), in 1949, Vicente, as a child, has always wanted to follow the paternal tradition and become a toreador. He first started his artistic career as a publicist. His iconography has a very distinctive trait and belongs as much to magic realism as to critical surrealism.

His first show took place in Madrid (Spain), on 1976, in the gallery Macarrón. Since, he has had a solo exhibition nearly every year in Spain (Madrid, Santander, Zaragoza, León, Alicante, Sevilla, Linares, Orense) and abroad including Scott Allan Gallery in New-York (1988), Château de Gruyères (Switzerland), Fantastic Art museum, where he shows 72 paintings during 3 months, and in Saint Jean de Luz (France). Vicente participated also to over a hundred group exhibitions in Spain and internationally, where his high exceptional talent was often awarded. Besides being an outstanding painter, Vicente is also a master etcher.

He is especially renown for his set on “bull fights”. Vincente Arnás differentiates himself very strongly among the contemporary figurative Spanish painting scene by his exceptional quality creative talent.
